Been busy designing layouts and taking photos for artist Lorsen Camps' latest project: the Coventry Haiku Project. Members of the public were asked to write haiku poems capturing moments of beauty in their everyday lives. Photographers were then asked to visualise them. The final selection is being printed as a postcard book.

Sometimes you just have to draw a giant robot smashing up a city. Certainly more constructive than smashing up a real city anyway.

Completed a project with Hi8us at the brand new BOA academy in Birmingham. We worked with a group of young people to produce an animation based around Oscar Wilde's sayings. It was a fun project and we tried to make the animation light hearted with Oscar's words being translated by a Heath Robinson style machine into modern day settings.

I've been working on some illustrations for issue one of Guru Magazine, a free, fun and informative science/technology magazine that's available as a digital download. The article is all about artificial intelligence and the the computers that attempt to fool humans into believing they are people. One poor guy even fell in love with a chat-bot! Just finished designing the pack for the CITV / First Light Share a Story competition. The downloadable PDF is intended to inspire the young entrants to think creatively when making their storyboards. I tried to make it as fun as possible by giving it a theme of doodles on a notepad. You can see last year's excellent winners at www.citv.co.uk

Tikabooson Wordpress Blog Design |

Having designed their logo a while ago, the guys at retro footy DVD store Tikabooson asked me to have a bash at designing a theme for their Wordpress blog. They wanted something along the same lines as my website and needed it fast so I had to turn it round pretty quickly. I think in the end they were pretty happy with the result. (No pun intended...honest.)

Working on some character designs for Ignite Creative's animation project Little Hero. Kids can be the star of the show and need to help the captain find the treasure whilst watching out for the dastardly Tickle Pirates! It's a fun little project to work on and should hopefully be finished in the new year.

Film Nation Shorts for the 2012 Olympics. |

We had great fun recently making a bunch of films for the Film Nation Shorts competition. The best films will be shown at the 2012 Olympics. We worked with about 20 young people to make 8 films during the project which was managed by Hi8us Midlands. The films ranged from stop motion to live action and we think there were some really good ones. I was involved in helping shoot the films, working through the ideas with the young people and creating graphics for the final edits.
Watch all the Hi8us films at www.filmnation.org

Stills from two of the films: Friendship for all Seasons and Junkyard Pong where a group of friends improvise a game of table tennis.

This was my submission for the Birmingham Zine Festival postcard exhibition. His name is Gavin if you were wondering and yes, those dots did take ages. Artists were asked to submit original artwork on a blank postcard. The cards were displayed at the festival and then swapped via Royal Mail at the end. I got a great card by the excellent Gemma Correll.

Spent a fun morning at First Light with Andy Baker and the Beano's Laura Howell helping to shortlist the finalists for the CITV Share A Story competition. We had a huge amount of entries to get through so it took a while but we got there in the end.

There were some fantastic and really imaginative entries, and some plain crazy ones too! All in all it was a fascinating insight into the minds of the young. Can't wait to see some of these made into animations on CITV soon.
